Lumberjack Chic

Hi Friends! I know it's that time - Christmas has come and gone and it is time to welcome on a brand NEW YEAR. Excited to have a couple of wellness posts (a little different vs. G&G stylefiles) on the way. Hoping to have a NYE look up this week if anything you'll see snaps for sure on my Instagram here.
With a New Year comes transition and today I wanted to share a way to transition your winter cozy plaids (I know you've got em) into early Spring.
During the holiday months we get so excited to wear our red check plaids - When it comes to plaids I think flannels, riding/over the knee boots, cozy cardis, and yessss posted up by a warm fire (super Hygge).
Sometimes I see certain themes and it gets my thoughts going. How can I create this in a cute/trendy way?  Moving into Spring I decided to do a different take on plaid (nothing too crazy) but I wanted to mix two favorite styles of the moment Lumberjack plaid + Sporty Chic. Here I chose my plaid mixed with destructed highwaisted denim (love these from Express)+ baseball cap. The true lumberjack look would definitely pair back with Timberlands buttt any heel bootie/Chelsea boot works just fine. (Laura - Timbs are on the hit list!)

Below are a few ways to bring your lumberjack chic into Spring.
  • Pick a Plaid -  I know I have about three...jk lets just say a few. This pictured red/navy woven style, a buffalo, and a couple more with wine burgundy check color ways. Try to go with brighter spring forward colors (Red, Pink, light blues, pastels).
  • Pair Accessories - I'm always a BIG fan of pairing accessories - matching details ex) Golds and beige cap+belt or the red bag+top. It just completely ties the entire look together. As long as there are two like items it all works.
  • Add a Bold Lip - OF COURSE. Does that count as an accessory? Lately I've been lining with a stain (huge Tarte Lip Pant fan) and adding a gloss or lipstick over (loving this Burberry shade) - it stays much longer Lol I wore a nude color to work once and received a few compliments I'm guessing because it was different. A pop of color is just always the go to for me.
  • Top it Off - This cap I found at a resale shop (don't judge) it's Saks and the gold woven detail really caught my eye. Living in New York I lived in caps on weekends running errands - a little different now that I run my errands in my car but I love the ease of throwing a baseball cap on. There's tons of cute mesh details, iridescent styles, and textures (faux suede/satin) to change up the original baseball look.
Hope you all are having a great week! Any fun NYE plans? I'm ready to partyyyy and bring on this's gonna be a good one :)

A Pretty Plaid Holiday

HAPPY HOLIDAYS and ALMOST Merry Christmas y'all! Hope everyone is having a great holiday season so far. It's no big news butttt around this time of the year I LOVE me some plaid. Seriously it is kind of a no brainer when it comes to fall/holiday style. There are so many ways to dress it up (LOVE this idea here) or down (try tying a red plaid around your waist). I found this cute tie shirt dress from Target a few weeks ago - no surprise but this little guy sold out online already. I've been on a Target kick lately, it's dangerously close to me in Houston. I linked some other favs below and you still might be able to find a few left in stores. It's hard to see in the pics but there is a really pretty gold thread woven throughout - Paired with my comfy cardi and I would definitely wear this to Christmas din or holiday date night.
There's something so cozy and instant "that time of year" feeling about a good plaid piece. This season plaids have had a bit of a makeover incorporating ruffles, bell sleeves, tie fronts, and shine. Of course the classic shirt/shirt dress will always be a favorite. I added some of my recent favorite styles below.
OH and how about this great designer dupe bag? The Chloe Faye backpack has been on the life list - polished, chic, trendy buttt this style above from Agaci is a nice look for less option. With the holidays here I need to save vs. splurge (right mom?) lol I found another one here from Shein that is a great find as well. Speaking of Shein - That is a dangerous can I have opened. If you want fast fashion at a price THAT is where you need to go. SO many great styles/designer inspired looks and a great way to get the look for less. I'll be posting a few of my latest finds soon.

Since I've been home it's been a busy few days #GettingLifeTogether days...Situating getting my ID updated, hair trimmed, groceries, dentist visit, eye doctor, present wrapping, name it and Mom and I have been ON IT. Happy to get all the things out of the way and today has been chill day - I finally got to see my hometown Bestie and meet her precious little baby Eli. So nice catching up and  seeing each other again. Time for cookie testing ROUND#2.

Silver Bells - Holiday Style

Hi friends! Keeping this post short and sweet. I know I just did a round up of all my favorite Holiday Trends in my previous post (here). I wanted to share this fun jumpsuit I found at Target a couple of weeks ago! For me it felt like a lot of shimmer so I added my black topper jacket to balance it out. It would also be pretty adding in a fur stole or furry jacket. I would wear this look to a party or girls night get together...speaking of I think a wine night is in order! I finally have my place holiday ready and I really loved how it all turned out (here). Thanks mom for the help! It's comfy cozy ah and smells like Christmas! I've been burning Christmas candles like crazy in here (love this one from TJs)
Gathering up this week and crazy, it's already time to head home for Christmas! I do have to say it's so nice being back in Texas - I just saw my family this weekend for my sister's graduation (WHOOP) congrats and I'll be back in Corpus this week again. Seriously love how easy it is to be back with everyone. Hope you all are having a great holiday season! I have a few more holiday looks coming out this week on G&G :)

Hollywood Holiday

Hi Friends! Feeling all the holiday cheer this weekend (complete with a Texas snowfall and all!). Today I wanted to show you all the dress I wore to Chayson's office holiday party this weekend. I LOVE the old hollywood feel of this look and the lace details and color seriously is so pretty. This green jewel tone is my jam and of course I found it at my gettin place Zara. HERE is the exact dress (xs) and I also featured other velvety favorites below. The party was at Hotel Zaza and everyone was definitely glam ready! Loved finally meeting all the office peeps (yes I exist lol) and new friends.
With all the Christmas/holiday feels I finally have my place decorated and I really loved how it all turned out (here). Thanks mom for the help! (Shop the post HERE).
Loved spending this week in LA - it was the perfect 75 and sunny kind of weather. We have a lot of great things hitting Spring and it was such a great trip! Happy to be home in Houston and
crazy, a little over a week and I'll be back home for Christmas already. Busy week getting last min Christmas gifts ready and finishing up work.
Keeping this post short and sweet. I know I just did a round up of all my favorite Holiday Trends in my previous post (here). Which one is your favorite trend?? Let me know - I love hearing your feedback/fav posts :)
