POP FIZZ CLINK

Left to Right: Lace Navy Dress \\ Silver Sequin Dress \\ Black Shimmer Dress \\ Navy Sequin Dress \\ Gold Shimmer Dress \\  Black Tulle Dress \\ Mini Evening Bag \\ Ear Jackets (kind if look like little fireworks) \\ Midnight Mask ( I thought this was a fun accessory..even if it's not a masquerade theme)

AHH it's almost 2015! Don't worry ladies, you still have plenty of time to find the perfect look...I'm still deciding which dress to wear. I'm so excited to spend the New Year in the city and YAY Chayson is coming too! I haven't ever really done anything big NYE but this year we are going all out for 2015. A friend of mine is hosting a party and I can't wait to catch up with everyone. (pop fizz clink)

If you are still in need of a NYE look maybe my above picks can spark some inspiration. I know most  of us stick with silver, gold, and sequins..but I really love the two navy dresses I found above. It's something a little different and can easily be worn throughout 2015. Check out my last Party Dress Post HERE for more dress links and images as well.

It's been a wonderful 9 day vacation in Texas (it went by SO fast), but it's time for me to pack up my goodies and head back to the city hustle. Loved catching up with loved ones and just being home..it's a nice feeling. Eh kind of dreading opening my work inbox, that's always fun to come back to after being away haha. However, I am looking forward to 2015 and what is to come...2014 was a crazy one for me THAT'S for sure - New City, new home, new friends, new job, new EVERYTHING (mostly). I am so thankful for this year, the opportunities, friends, and Texas visitors who have come to stay with me in my little home. I'm expecting y'all to book your flights again to hang out with me ;)

Mmm currently thinking of New Years resolutions, what are some of yours?

Christmas Cozy

Mango Christmas Blanket Scarf (similar here and here). Target Red Zip Up . Max Studio Leggings (found at TJMaxx) . Christmas Dot Socks (similar here and here). Steven by Steve Madden Loafers (similar style) . Prima Donna Necklace (similar here, and here)

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday. My family and I spent Christmas Eve going to evening mass and ended the night with a tamale dinner (YAY for South Texas cuisine). Earlier that morning I celebrated Christmas with my boyfriend and spent some much needed time catching up with his family. Eeek he got me a new camera lens (used in this post). It's the Cannon 50mm and I am so excited to work on more style posts for you guys. I'm still trying to figure out/experiment with the functions on my camera, but I think this lens will be a great next step. If anyone has any pointers or suggestions, feel free to send them my way!

Christmas morning my family cooked brunch at our house and I think we had one of the best batches of brioche bread yet! It's a family tradition of ours to make brioche (days before) to devour Christmas morning haha. It's quite the process, but sissy is picking up on it from Dad. My mom and I are the designated taste testers. We serve it with heaps of butter and orange marmalade. Delish.

Another family tradition is morning PJs and fuzzy socks. My sister and I always have fun sock stocking stuffers and they are put to good use ALL year. I decided to keep it cozy in a festive red fleece with my plaid blanket scarf...Morning Mimosa in hand, of course! Oh...AND SANTA CAME.

Happy Holidays!

Fancy Faux Fur

Jcrew Chambray Dot Shirt (similar men's version , similar fm Express) . Calvin Klein Faux Fur Vest ( Found at TJmaxx, other options below) . Statement Necklace (similar). Express Bracelets . Louis Vuitton Bag . Rag and Bone Jeans .

Happy Holidays everyone and Merry Christmas Eve eve! The past few fall/winter seasons have been filled with furry trends... collars, vests, ear muffs, handbags, wraps, mittens, and scarves galore! Adding a fur vest is a great closet staple to add warmth and texture to an outfit. A fur vest can easily create a luxurious glam feel to everyday wear. I am a huge fan of this trend and I love my Calvin Klein vest above (found at TJmaxx) as well as my Tart Collections Kya Vest HERE. I feel like some faux fur accessories can become ratty and course over time, but both vests are amazing quality faux furs. I've had them for over a year and the texture still feels soft and new.

For those unexpected chilly days, layering a vest with a chambray button down or lightweight sweater is a nice way to stay warm and stylish. As long as my chest, ears, and hands stay toasty I'm good to go!

The great part about styling a vest is that it literally goes with everything. A fur vest is surprisingly more versatile than you would think. Check out these Pinterest looks here, here, here, and here. My go to vest look is skinny jeans + button down + statement jewels.

It's ALMOST Christmas eeek and I am so excited to finally be back home again. After a few plane delays and 2 hour layover in Dallas I finally made my way south! Yesterday I exchanged gifts with my longest hometown bestie Jen and we had a great time catching up/running errands in Corpus Christi.

Good Eats - Chelsea Market

So excited to finally get this posted! Last month one of my oldest best friends Jennifer, came to visit me and I have to say I felt like I was on vacation...homegirl did her research and got to party planning. I was excited to experience a few NYC activities on my to-do list. One of the things I had not done yet was a food tour. Jen found this one HERE in Chelsea Market and we had such a fun time. We not only ate A TON, but toured the sites of the Meatpacking area as well. Our tour guide was a quirky animated fellow with a lot of great stories and info. He did a nice job and definitely put on a show for his tour.

We went to seven different tastings in Chelsea Market and finished with a sit down dinner at an Italian restaurant in the Meatpacking District. The tastings covered just a little bit of everything...sweets, meat, cheese, veggies, spices, wine, pasta, etc. One of my favorite activities when traveling is eating - This particular tour is $52 and I highly recommend any visitors try it out. This is a great snap shot of just how amazing the food is here in New York City.

Here are a few of the highlights below :)

Delish Red Velvet Cupcake and Chocolate Milk at Eleni's

Beef Tartar - Yes that means it's raw...BUT it was AMAZING

A quiche type dish at an Italian market

The most amazing grilled cheese from Lucy's Whey

Fresh made doughnuts from the Doughnuttery

Fresh biscuits and Jam from Sarabeth's Bakery

Holiday Sequins

Gianni Bini Dress, Tory Burch Bag (Silver) . Basic Black Tights . Guess Boots

Finally, it is almost time to take a break and head down to South Texas (eek Saturday). I'll be home for 9 days and I can't wait to be a kid again with the fam. There really is no place like home...friends, family, FOOD. And boy am I ready for my parent's cooking! I'll have to hit the gym asap once I'm back...but for now I want nothing more than to veg out on my hometown couch with sissy and a glass of wine (girl you betta be ready for the gossips). It'll be nice to go South for the winter, and get a break from the chilly temps. These next 2 days I'll be hosting a few Texas friends in town. Ready to have a last minute burst of NYC Christmas fun with them before I go home.

I am SO excited to have a party dress post up. The holiday season is such a great excuse to dress it up!  Sparkles, jewel tones, lace, feathers...it's definitely that time of year. I know a lot of you have upcoming formals, holiday dinners, company parties, family gatherings etc. and I wanted to share some party dress inspiration. A few years ago I wore this Gianni Bini dress to a holiday dinner, and it's been a long time favorite of mine. The black and white color blocking give it a two piece look but I like the ease of single dress fit. This look works for a number of holiday occasions with or without a jacket.

Here are a few of my other holiday dress picks.
