Tonight's Outfit

Well possibly if the weather isn't too chilly...

Please excuse the awkward angles and such...I am still trying to master the ultimate full length selfie haha...I just think it would be a good idea to start documenting the looks I like. My poor closet is about to explode! I need to go through my things and see what I have.

Top- Chan Luu
Skirt- Target
Shoes- Fioni
Necklace- Forever 21

Today has been a great day. Workout, ran a few errands, and came across this pretty little skirt. I feel like I have been looking for the perfect high-low skirt for the longest time! Luckily Target just received a great selection in black, nude, turquoise, and polka dot. I love this color and I know I'll definitely be wearing this a lot during the spring/summer. Ah Target is the best for inexpensive nice clothing...It's good to mix it with a few nicer pieces for a more polished look.

Ring- NYC Market

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! So happy mine has finally begun..time to relax and see my family tomorrow :) I miss them.

Look good feel good

Actually keeping up with my New Years Resolutions...

Lately my roommate and I have been on this health kick and I have to say I feel great! It was time I detox myself from my New York/Christmas break food baby and really get to work. This being my last semester I actually seem to have a little more time to put in that extra effort and really try to take care of myself. Also with spring break right around the corner it can never hurt to get that bootay in shape! Woowooo ;)

Basically I have been going to the REC more and actually doing some of the things on my workout Pinterest board :P My KINE class this semester is aerobic step and I really enjoy having to workout...it motivates me to just stay longer and do abs or something else afterwards.

I have been doing these workouts along with my step class. I found them on Pinterest but actually decided to give them a try...boy did I feel the BURN! A lot of them are ballet based and can be found on fitsugar.com...

For Christmas I got some new workout clothes and that was a nice little motivation to hit the gym more. All of this came from the Forever 21 new active wear line. It was all SUPER inexpensive and I am really pleased with the quality. They have a few things online but I found a wider selection at my home F21 store.

These workout bottoms and tops are so comfy and cute...

I have also been eating better and cooking more. Hopefully as the semester picks up I can continue to make time for that but sticking to low carb and veggies has helped. I have been eating a lot of meats, cheeses, low fat dairy, and vegetables. Basically lean proteins is the way to go!

I make these protein pancakes as a snack or even for a meal with steamed vegetables. It is super easy and fast. All you need is 3 tbs of egg whites, 2 tbs of Greek yogurt, 2 tbs of oats, and splenda or salt depending on if you want it sweet or salty. Wisk the egg first and then mix in the rest...pour in a skillet and cook on med about 3 mins on each side. They are surprisingly good..
I have kind of become obsessed with teas lately as well. I love the Lipton Green Tea or Sleepytime Chamomile. I will drink about 3-4 glasses a day..Hot or iced :)

I made this last night for dinner...Stuffed avocados. It was delicious and the recipe is right here:  http://www.muscleandfitnesshers.com/recipes/over-stuffd-avocado

Lovely berries and cottage cheese. The perfect sweet and good for you dairy mix!

Obviously getting back into shape was one of my New Years Resolutions...what are some of yours? Does anyone have any favorite workout routines?
Have a great Wednesday!

You are beautiful dahh-ling

"A smile is the best makeup a girl can wear..."

Lipstick: Christina
Multi Stick: Maldives
Velvet lip gloss Pencil: Frivolous
 Pure Radiant tinted moisturizer
 Blushes: Super Orgasm, Taos
Eye Shadow: Egea

Yes this is true...I think the best makeup a girl can have is confidence and a smile. Not even just girls but anyone! Everyone is beautiful in their own unique way. It's all about finding you and what makes YOU happy. Make up should highlight and enhance beauty...not cover it :) I have never done a beauty post before, but I thought it would be good to try something new and post some of my new favorite products. People sometimes ask what I am wearing or what I like to use and I think that it would be fun to share some of my latest finds.

NARS makeup..a new unhealthy obsession of mine. I originally just wanted the blush-Super Orgasm but then I wanted the lipstick to match and then the gloss andddd then it all went down hill from there. Luckily some of this was given to me by a NARS sales associate for waiting as she helped a fussy customer. How nice, because some of this can get a little pricy.

Blushes: Taos and Super Orgasm
Eye Shadow: Egea

The top swatch from left to right is the lipstick Christina, lip gloss Sweet Dreams, lip pencil Frivolous, and Multi Stick in Maldives. Christina is a really pretty rust color I like it for business occasions and going out. It is a very elegant fall-like color and sometimes I'll lightly wear it during the day. Both the gloss and pencil have a similar light pinky color perfect for everyday use. They have a nice shine and look really pretty over just about any lipstick color.

I absolutely love this makeup and I have started incorporating it with my everyday look/use. Out of all of these products I have to say the multi stick in Maldives is my favorite! It gives a gorgeous bronze sparkle and looks great over any blush. It adds some color, but nothing too bronze or summer-like. I like to put it on my cheeks and lips for a light easy look.

Multi Stick and Lipstick

As far as today, I have had a wonderful 4 day weekend! Everything has been pretty relaxing in life...minus figuring out what I am going to do for this coming year...eek graduation haha. But I am excited to see what this semester will bring. So today I will spend my time cleaning, catching up on organizing school things, and preparing for upcoming interviews. :)

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Adventures in the Upper East Side

"You know you love me xoxo" -Gossip Girl

Ok so yes anyone who knows me knows this has been my favorite show of all time...I have been watching GG for the past 6 years and I am sad to see it go. The big city, beautiful people, fashion, plotting, and scheming have kept my attention for quite some time. My sister has recently become a fan and loves watching the past seasons as well...I knew she would get into it haha I have to say Blair and Nate are my two favorite characters...So much attractiveness!

I was SO excited to find a Gossip Girl tour on my trip to New York. It was through a company called Screen Tours and took us to all the major spots that were used in the show in the Upper East side area of NYC. I was kind of freaking out seeing all the sights and my sister and I had a wonderful time. Our tour guide Sammi was adorable and we knew a lot of the behind the scenes facts.

 We saw...
  • Grand Central Station to see where Serena returned to NYC in the very first episode
  • Passed the Vera Wang boutique where Blair tried on her wedding gown
  • The Palace Hotel-Chuck and Serena's home
  • Shopped at the candy store where Dan helped Vanessa shop for her anniversary
  • Constance Billard & St. Jude's schools
  • Lunch on the Met Steps
  • Visited The Empire Hotel, site of Chuck Bass’ newest home and business
  • Henri Bendel where Blair and Serena shop

The Palace Hotel's Grand Ball Room was beautiful! One of the doormen asked us if we were on the tour (gee wonder why) and took us to the ball room. He was so nice and was more than happy to take pictures of us. He told us all about the filming atmosphere and how it was working around a TV crew all day. It seemed like a chaotic environment trying to keep people from coming in during film hours.

Jacket- Iman
Necklace- Dillards
Scarf- Local boutique
Pants- Zara
Boots- Steve Madden

The Palace Hotel
My sister and I felt so glamorous in our GG inspired outfits. We thought it would be fun to try to dress like the characters...but literally for half the price :)  I got the jacket for Christmas and it is my favorite! It is soo soft and comfortable. It's hard to believe it is not real fur because it is just so soft!

It was interesting that they used three different locations for Constance Billard School for Girls...this is the front of it and is actually a museum!

Definitely one of my favorite outfits!
Dylan's Candy Bar was sooo much fun! Ah there was just about any and every candy you could ever imagine...it was quite overwhelming at first. My sister and I made a sack of sour patch, chocolate covered pretzels, choc marshmallows, and gummies. Best lunch ever.

Ah yes the classic met steps pose.

Then it was off to the home of Chuck Bass...

The Empire Hotel was gorgeous! I would love to stay here...everything was so luxurious and how else do I say this...but it was very Chuck Bass ;)

My hours were spent here by Mr. Bass...Scotch please haha

My sister and I had fun at Henri Bendel. We felt it was only appropriate we buy headbands of course! I found these two below. Now I am not much of a headband wearer, but I think these will actually go with most of my things. I'll give the Blair Waldorf look a try one of these days.

The leather one is so cute!

Our lovely tour ended at Grand Central Station..where the entire show begins. I had so much fun and I am so glad my sis and I were able to go! I was worried that with my schedule it wouldn't fit but luckily it all worked out. It was fun to pretend to be Upper East Siders for a day...

A night at the Waldorf...301 Park Avenue

"Walk like you have three men walking behind you"-Oscar De La Renta

And in a way I kind of felt the need to take Mr. De La Renta's advice as I (along with the rest of theYMA Fashion Scholarship Fund winners) walked through the Waldorf Astoria's Grand Ballroom.  As we walked we passed designers, models, and retail executives...it was hard to believe this night finally came. This was a evening of celebration and an honor to be awarded a $5000 scholarship. The Waldorf Astoria was the perfect place to host the Gala/Dinner. Everything was just beautiful... In order to achieve this, students from selected schools were presented with a retail case to create their own private label line. At first this task seemed quite daunting, but luckily my LONG hours of work paid off.

Myspace selfie...had to my hair was huge!

There were two parts to the case competition, business and design. Being from a business school I did the merchandising/planning side of the case.  It was interesting to see what some of the other design students created. My roommate and I were joking before the gala that my pink nails were "unprofessional"...and in accounting yes...but not here. People were wearing bright colors, interesting hair styles, and this one guy even wore a cape. It was different, but I somehow felt home :)

View from my seat
Ya I basically had 5 of these haha

Dress- Antonio Melani

I was so excited I had an excuse to buy this dress. It was part of my Christmas present and I absolutely love it! The beading is beautiful and it kind of reminds me of an elegant Great Gatsby dress. This will definitely be worn again...and again :) A classic.

Ohhh and they gave us all new cameras...SO now my pics won't be so fuzzy crummy. We were all really excited about this and most started using the cameras right away. The boxes were all pre-opened with a memory card..how thoughtful.

One of the other winners!
The Silver Corridor...beautiful and Yes GG did film in here. Hence why I am obsessed with it haha
This was such a fun evening and a night to remember! Hopefully something soon will bring me back to a place like this, filled with the things I love...

Fashion, creativity, drive, beauty...I could go on and on..
